Berlin/Hamburg – take-e-way GmbH is a member of the German Solar Industry Association (Bundesverband Solarwirtschaft/BSW-Solar e.V.).

As might be expected, the management of the BSW-Solar has agreed with great pleasure to the acceptance of take-e-way as member as of January 1st, 2013. BSW-Solar informed take-e-way about this on January 9th.

The German Solar Industry Association with more than 800 companies is the most important representation of interests of the German solar and photovoltaic sector. The association acts as informant, advisor and agent in the area of activity between economy, politics and consumers.

Membership is required due to the new WEEE directive

The revised directive of the European Parliament and of the Council on waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE directive) will presumably be implemented in national law in 2014.

Then, also all manufacturers and importers of photovoltaic modules will be obliged to recycle their devices correctly and in compliance with the law. In Germany the WEEE registration of the modules will become obligatory for all manufacturers already before offering or selling the photovoltaic modules.

From the point of view of take-e-way the photovoltaic industry needs support in the implementation of the new requirements and obligations in compliance with the law.

take-e-way helps in the smooth implementation

Mr. Oliver Friedrichs, managing director of the take-e-way GmbH, said today in Hamburg: "It is very important that the manufacturers and importers of photovoltaic modules receive competent advice for the correct treatment of their obligations resulting of the WEEE directive. The timely preparation for the requirements of the WEEE directive helps to avoid impairments in the sales or inconvenient legal consequences for the manufacturers when selling their photovoltaic modules."

"Therefore, we are very glad to be able to support the members of the BSW-Solar with our experiences of more than 20,000 successfully performed registration processes only at the German Foundation EAR (German WEEE registration board).", continued Mr. Friedrichs.
