The VERE association supports EU consultation on the Toys Directive

In all well-intentioned efforts to increase the protection goals of the Toys Directive, the concerns of SMEs must also be taken into account. In addition, the VERE association commented on the problem of manual signatures in the declaration of conformity.

The association for take-back and recycling of waste electrical and electronic equipment (VERE e.V.) recently submitted a contribution to a public consultation of the EU Commission on the portal “Have your say”. This contribution deals with the topic “Protecting children from unsafe toys and strengthening the Single Market – revision of the Toy Safety Directive”.

VERE pointed out that the planned amendments to the Toys Directive represent an increased burden for SMEs. In all well-intentioned efforts to increase the protection goals of the Toys Directive, the concerns of SMEs must also be taken into account. In addition, the VERE association commented on the problem of manual signatures in the declaration of conformity.
